Network Configuration Guide
This document introduces XiaoZhi AI device network configuration methods and common troubleshooting procedures.
Configuration Methods
- Initial startup enters hotspot mode, connect mobile phone to
XiaoZhi-XXXX
hotspot for provisioning - Enter home Wi-Fi name and password through Web management page
- Support 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks only (5GHz not supported)
- Does not support Wi-Fi networks requiring web portal authentication
Step-by-Step Setup
1. Initial Setup
- Power on the device for the first time
- Device will create a hotspot named
XiaoZhi-XXXX
- Connect your mobile phone or computer to this hotspot
- Default password is usually
12345678
2. Web Configuration
- Open web browser and navigate to
192.168.4.1
- Enter your home Wi-Fi network name (SSID)
- Enter your Wi-Fi password
- Click Save and restart device
3. Connection Verification
- Device LED will indicate connection status
- Green light: Connected successfully
- Red/blinking light: Connection failed
- Check device logs for detailed status
Network Requirements
Supported Networks
- 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks
- WPA/WPA2 security protocols
- Signal strength: -70dBm or better
- No captive portal authentication
Unsupported Networks
- 5GHz Wi-Fi networks
- WEP security (deprecated)
- Enterprise networks requiring certificates
- Networks with captive portal login
Troubleshooting
Connection Issues
Cannot find device hotspot
- Restart device and wait 30 seconds
- Check device is in setup mode
- Reset network settings if needed
Cannot access setup page
- Verify connection to device hotspot
- Try different web browser
- Clear browser cache and cookies
WiFi connection fails
- Double-check network name and password
- Ensure 2.4GHz network is selected
- Move device closer to router
- Restart router if necessary
Signal Quality
- Weak signal: Move device closer to router
- Interference: Check for nearby 2.4GHz devices
- Range issues: Consider Wi-Fi extender or mesh network
Advanced Troubleshooting
Factory reset network
- Hold BOOT button while powering on
- Device will reset to hotspot mode
